Why use ImgZero for Font Founder — Discover Website Fonts?
Frequently Asked Questions
Will Font Founder find every font used on the page?
Font Founder performs a static CSS scan: it fetches the page HTML, linked stylesheets, CSS imports, and referenced font files. It does not execute JavaScript, so fonts loaded dynamically (CSS-in-JS, Google Fonts Loader, etc.) may not appear. The report clearly labels what was inspected and notes any coverage gaps.
Is the website URL stored anywhere?
The URL is sent to ImgZero's Font Founder analysis service to fetch the page. It is used transiently during analysis and is not logged or stored. ImgZero does not retain the report or any content from the target page.
What kinds of fonts does Font Founder detect?
Font Founder detects web fonts declared via @font-face (including Google Fonts, Adobe Fonts, and self-hosted files), font-family declarations in any CSS rule, font preload tags, and inline style attributes. It separately lists system font fallbacks.
Can I use Font Founder on a private or staging site?
No. Font Founder can only analyze publicly accessible URLs. Private, password-protected, VPN-only, or staging sites cannot be reached by the analysis service. Do not submit URLs that contain credentials or authentication tokens.
What is the difference between 'declared' and 'verified' fonts?
A declared font appeared in the CSS source. A verified font means the actual font file was also fetched and its binary metadata (family name, format, variable axes) was read. If a font file could not be fetched (blocked, CORS, 404), it is listed as declared-only.
