1. Ownership & Architecture Notice

ImgZero is developed and operated by the ImgZero Team as a privacy-first web utility. All processing code runs locally inside your browser to ensure complete user data privacy.

2. Zero Server Upload Policy

All image conversions, compression, resizing, cropping, rotation, metadata stripping, face blurring, noise reduction, PDF transformations, and browser extension operations execute entirely within your browser's client runtime using HTML5 Canvas, OffscreenCanvas, and multithreaded Web Workers.

Your image files, raw pixel data, EXIF metadata, object URLs, and filenames are never uploaded, transferred, or stored on ImgZero servers. Once you close or refresh the page, temporary in-memory buffers are automatically garbage collected by your browser.

3. Network Technical Logs & Privacy-Restricted Analytics

When you load ImgZero, standard static CDN infrastructure (such as Vercel or Cloudflare) receives basic HTTP network metadata required to deliver web assets to your browser (e.g., your IP address, browser user-agent, HTTP referrer, and request timestamps).

These technical logs are standard server infrastructure records maintained by static hosting providers for network routing, DDoS mitigation, and operational security. ImgZero uses privacy-friendly Vercel Web Analytics for aggregate telemetry: page visits, broad source categories, tool usage, format categories, and duration buckets.

Analytics are cookieless, privacy-preserving, and GDPR compliant. ImgZero never sends image bytes, raw pixels, EXIF data, OCR text, filenames, dimensions, or user-entered file data to any analytics provider. All image and document processing takes place 100% locally in your browser.

4. Local Browser Storage & IndexedDB Database

ImgZero utilizes your browser's localStorage API solely to store interface preferences, such as your selected theme mode (light, dark, or system).

For our Batch Tools, ImgZero utilizes your browser's private IndexedDB database engine to temporarily retain your queued batch files, preflight analysis, and converted outputs locally on your device across page navigation. This ensures your batch work is preserved when moving between pages without incurring main-thread browser lag.

All data stored in IndexedDB remains 100% strictly on your local device sandbox, is never transmitted or uploaded to any external server, and can be cleared at any time using the "Clear" button in the Batch Tool interface or via your browser's site data settings.

5. Chrome Extension Data & Permissions Policy

The ImgZero Quick Image Toolkit Chrome Extension operates 100% client-side. When you use the context menu to inspect or optimize an image, the selected image bytes are fetched directly into your local browser memory sandbox. Image processing runs in local Web Workers and HTML5 Canvas within the extension.

The extension requests only the minimum permissions needed for its disclosed features: activeTab and scripting for user-initiated access to the current page, contextMenus for right-click actions, sidePanel for the batch workspace, storage for local task metadata and preferences, and downloads for saving output files. The extension does not request broad host permissions or background access to browsing history.

Extension storage (chrome.storage.local) retains only active task metadata (URL, format, timestamps) and interface preferences. It never stores image byte arrays or raw pixel data. All stored data can be cleared by removing the task in the extension UI, clearing the extension's storage data, or uninstalling the extension.

6. Font Founder — URL Analysis Exception

Font Founder is the only ImgZero feature that makes outbound network requests on your behalf. When you submit a website URL for analysis, that URL is sent to ImgZero's Font Founder analysis service (a separate backend service hosted at a controlled API origin). The service then fetches the submitted page's public HTML, linked stylesheets, and referenced font files in order to build the typography report.

What the service receives: the URL you submit and standard HTTP metadata (IP address, timestamp, User-Agent set to ImgZero-FontFounder/1.0).

What the service does not do: It does not store the submitted URL, the fetched HTML/CSS, font file bytes, or the generated report. It does not forward your browser cookies, Authorization headers, or any other credentials to the target site. Standard infrastructure and security logs may be retained by the hosting provider for a limited period per their own policies.

What you should not submit: Private, authenticated, staging, or internally-accessible URLs. Do not include credentials, tokens, or session identifiers in the URL. Use Font Founder only on publicly reachable websites for which you have permission to analyze.

All other ImgZero tools (image conversion, compression, OCR, PDF, etc.) remain 100% client-side with zero server uploads.

7. AI Tool Assistant — Natural Language Intent Discovery

ImgZero provides an AI-powered Tool Assistant to help you discover relevant image, PDF, and video utilities using natural language. When you submit a search query in the assistant field, that text message is sent to ImgZero's standalone tool discovery API.

What the service receives: the text description you enter and standard HTTP network metadata (IP address, user-agent, timestamp). The text query may be processed by Groq-hosted language models under an OpenAI-compatible API to select the best match from our catalog.

Zero file ingestion guarantee: The assistant is purely an intent navigator. It never receives, inspects, or uploads your files, image bytes, PDFs, videos, filenames, canvas data, or document contents. All actual image, PDF, and video operations run 100% on your device.

Data minimization: ImgZero does not log raw query text, persist chat histories, create user accounts, or track individual profiles. Operational logs record only aggregated metrics (response status, duration, and model slot).
